Hello! I'm Kaitlyn, I am twenty one years old, and I've been singing on stage since I was only three! I am a classically trained soprano with a three-octave vocal range, who also has a love for Rock n' Roll. I have performed with over a dozen choirs, their styles being classical, a cappella, and popular music. During my time in high school, one of the choirs I participated in got invited to sing at conventions in both Canada and Arkansas. I've performed in a few opera productions as well, and one of those productions even traveled to perform in Mexico City. I am about to start my fourth year at Texas Tech University to get my bachelor's degree in Vocal Performance. I have exceptional sightreading skills and a great sense of relative pitch. I can find my way around the piano, I can teach valuable breathing and vowell techniques, intentional breathing/rests, techniques for vocal health and comfortablility, I can help navigate different vocal registers and teach accordingly for each one, I can teach how to effectively learn and memorize music, and I can give tips on how to keep the voice healthy during and outside of performance/stage time. Along with being able to teach the voice, I can teach stage presence, how to cheat/sing when moving onstage, how to properly walk onstage, and how to connect to the audience, and how to stay positive about your craft during challenging times. Throughout my time as a singer, I have won mulitiple awards as part of a choir and as a soloist. As a soloist, in my last two years of high school, I made the TMEA All-State mixed-choir, and for the second year that I made it, I ranked first chair for all four rounds of the competition. I ranked as Oustanding Performer and first division at the Solo & Ensemble contests throughout all four years of high school. I auditioned for an opera my first year of college and got a role when it wasn't even open to freshmen. I won my category of the NATS competition my senior year of high school and junior year of college. I also won my category of the Concerto Competition at TTU, advancing to the next round. My favorite part about being a singer is the rush of adrenaline I feel when I step onstage, followed by the moment I bring a smile to someone's face!
