Hi! My name is Nadia and I have been singing and mostly making noise since I was very young. I always knew music was going to be a very large part of my life growing up, I just wasn't quite sure how! I grew up in North Carolina singing in every choir I could get into, from church to school to community youth choirs. I took piano lessons from a very young age and was always singing something! In high school I participated in choir and theater and fell in love with creating characters and performance. I went to college at George Washington University where I balanced studying Biology and Music. I sang constantly, performing in recitals and donor events, in ensembles like Black and Gold, our vocal jazz ensemble and University Singers, and using my summers to travel and learn from teachers all over the world. While in DC, I was exposed to incredible talent and dedication in performance venues like the Kennedy Center and Schlesinger Hall. My entire life became performance, whether I was preparing for the stage myself or watching others perform. I am now at the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami, getting my Masters in Vocal Performance. Although opera and classical music are my main focus in my own career, I have plenty of experience in jazz, pop and musical theater performance and teaching. I can't wait to meet you and help you reach your vocal goals! I teach with the mindset that every single person with a larynx where your vocal folds sit in the throat, we'll talk about it! can sing, and more importantly, SHOULD sing! Often times, beginner singers require some fine tuning to find the healthiest, most sustainable and most beautiful voice possible! It is a lifelong hunt, one I am still exploring myself, and I am thrilled to be on this journey with you!

What to expect in my Vocal Lessons
The basic structure of our voice lessons will go a little something like this: we will begin with warming up our bodies and voices together, all the while discussing how practice went since we last saw eachother! I will then assign warm-ups and technical exercises to be worked on for the upcoming week. We will discuss their use and efficacy and how to implement them in effective practice. We will then move into our repertoire, talking about how to implement those techniques into the songs we will choose together! Towards the end of our lesson, we will set specific goals for the week and do a short cool down. Within this basic outline, I incorporate vocal science and anatomy, music history and performance practices.
