About Me

Hi, my name is Christopher and I am a Drummer/percussionist from Kissimmee, FL. I have been playing percussion for 15 years. Learning and enjoying all types from drum set playing to board instruments like Xylophones if it includes a mallet or stick or some kind I love it.. My teaching style can best be described as focusing on what my student is passionate about in music and curating lessons that help them develop essential fundamentals while keeping them excited and feeling progress. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I focus on the musically of percussion and how it serves the overall song. We will often be playing along to play along tracks finding grooves that fit the vibe of the song. In my lessons, you can expect to learn the songs that got you excited to want to play drums in the first place as well as ways to make your own inspiring rhythms. My favorite thing about teaching is spreading the joy of making and performing music. My favorite performance was with my former band O'rchard at the social in Orlando. playing to a crowd singing back to you is one of the best feelings. My students love that I focus on the genres they prefer while also sneaking in fundamentals that will help with all genres and types of percussion. I primarily teach Drumset, but I can also teach Concert percussion, Board Instruments, or Drumline. My approach as a teacher is to Focus on the student and fostering their passion. when they get excited about something I go towards it and tie it into our lesson.
