About Me

I have been teaching piano for over 20 years now and I totally love it.. I hold Bachelor and Master's degrees in Piano Performance from Shenandoah University. My lessons include instruction in traditional music theory---both written and aural ear training yet are catered to the learning style and personality of each individual student. I can teach in multiple genres---classical, pop, country, showtunes and more, using both original and published piano methods. Bottom line; you are guaranteed to have fun.

What to expect in my Keyboard and Piano Lessons

Beginner - Advanced - Intermediate

Your lessons will be carefully designed according to your unique learning style and current skill level---as well as the type of genre(s) you wish to learn (i.e. classical, pop, country, gospel, blues, Broadway showtunes etc.). The study of traditional music theory---both written and aural (ear training) will be included in each lesson.

Formal Education:

Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in Piano Performance from Shenandoah University Conservatory

Private Education:

I started taking piano lessons at 9.5 years old and got accepted into Shenandoah in 1998 right out of high school.

Performing Experience:

I have been playing for weddings, parties, restaurants/lounges etc. since I was 16 as well as for my high school chorus and in church since 1995. I have 26 years experience with accompanying singers and instrumentalists since my days as an SU student...also I have over 20 years of band experience outside of the classical realm.
