My name is Dan and I’ve been playing guitar for 35 years. I’m primarily a rock guitarist, but my influences are broad and diverse, including jazz, blues, fusion, folk and even electronica. I have many years of performance experience, including several bands, so I can offer guidance on not only the music itself, but also the challenges of band dynamics and playing live. I believe music lessons should be primarily fun. Inspiring the love of music and the enthusiasm to improve is the most important part. After that, of course, come the fundamentals, from chords and picking/fingering technique to scales, rhythm and the principles of practice. It’s crucial to keep learning engaging and enjoyable, whether you’re teaching fundamentals or advanced technique and improvisation.
