About Me
My focus on guitar in acoustic finger picking Blues and Old-time country. I play and teach the music of Brownie McGhee, Doc Watson, John Hurt and others. I play and teach Blues Harp in the tradition of Sonny Terry, Little Walter, Sonny Boy Williamson and others. Rather than beginning with scales and exercises, my primary goal when I begin to work with a student is to have the student discover, as soon as possible, something he or she can play that sounds cool! This provides the initial motivation to continue. I am a song writer, well-versed in the creative and technical skills needed to write expressive and successful songs. I also play and teach the Cajon.

Performing Experience:
I have been performing on stage with the band Triple Barrel Shotgun for three years, playing a mix of original and cover songs. I have been a part of the Celtic Band Lisdoonvarna for two years handling percussion (cajon) guitar and some vocals. I have recently recorded and am preparing for the release of an album of original songs.

I began to teach guitar in Carrollton in June 2013. I have been a Boy Scout leader since 1999, having held the positions of Den Leader, Cub Master, Assistant Scout Master, Scout Master, Unit Commisioner, and Boy Scout RoundTable Commisioner
