I'm 28. I have been playing guitar for 15 years. I grew up playing in a Pentecostal church and gained and developed the ability to play by ear in that setting. My influences are John Mayer, SRV, and Eric Clapton. I also like Joe Bonamassa, Buddy Guy, and Robert Cray. I listen to country so I'm familiar with that genre and I also do Southern and Classic Rock. I tailor my lessons to the individuals goals for their playing. Whether it be to become proficient at the instrument or just to learn to strum a few songs to be able to play with their friends, I get them there. I've taught middle aged men, college kids, and currently have several 9-13 year old boys and a few girls. I teach the technical side of things but also start teaching chords immediately so that I can teach them a song they like. This keeps their interest and strays away from them becoming bored with monotonous scales, etc. I am passionate about music and I love teaching. It's my favorite thing to do.

I have no formal education to speak of other than high school.
Private Education:
I took lessons for about a year under Charlotte Myracle, who has a masters in music. I then picked up later, in my early 20's, and took some theory lessons with her. I prefer to teach using Tab and I know how to develop a students ear as well.
Performing Experience:
I played in my church's praise team for 10+ years. When my family and I swapped to a larger church, I also played with their praise band. I played with a band called Another Way to Praise(AW2P) in 2009. We had to honor of playing at a national youth event in front of around 3000 people. I'm currently playing in a band called Night Dreamer. It's a band that's just getting started but I feel like we have huge potential and I'm very excited about it.
Experience Teaching:
I've taught several friends to play over the years but only recently (about 2 years ago) started offering formal lessons. I have 6 students right now and have done no advertising until the past month because I've had a full time job. I just made the decision to do music full time. Our area is very limited in music instructors.
