I'm a St. Louis-area guitarist with experience in both contemporary and traditional musical styles including country, folk, R&B, rock, jazz, and free improvisation. I teach from the Mel Bay Guitar Method series, as it gives the student a solid basis in technique, reading, and rudimentary music theory, but also emphasize ear training and the student's personal interests.
Nick H has over 15 years of music experience in the St. Louis area.
Nick H is proficient in and teaches Guitar Lessons .Formal Education:
Studied Bachelor of Music - Jazz Performance at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (4 Years)
Private Education:
Studied under Terri Ash-Chazelle from 1998-2003. Studied under Rick Haydon from 2007-2011
Performing Experience:
I began playing in rock bands and the school jazz band in my early teens continuing to play in both contexts throughout my college career. Currently, I play in a several groups of various styles including Tess Hannah & the Brothermen (contemporary country/pop), Jake Gehret & the Brokedown Sound (classic soul and R&B), brotherfather (indie/experimental rock), in addition to providing dinner and evening music for local establishments including Urban Chestnut Brewing Company.
Experience Teaching:
My previous teaching experience has been limited to young children, but I'm interested in teaching beginner/intermediate students of all ages.
