About Me

My name is Glen.  I was born in Houston and have lived here all my life.  Music is a major part of my life and there is nothing I love more than sharing my knowledge with others.

I started playing drum set at the age of 9 in 1999.  Until the year 2004, I only played drum set.  In 2003 I played with a band for the first time.

Starting in 2004 I began learning how to read music and learn approaches to technique in marching and concert percussion, as well as how to play a vast amount of percussive instruments.  I played in the front ensemble in grade 9, marched snare in grade 10, and marched tenors grades 11-12.

When I graduated high school I went on to Texas State University and marched tenors with their drumline.  I have completed two years and am still continuing to march in the upcoming fall.  This year I will be section leader.

I still continue to play drum set and I have been in various bands and projects since high school.  I have performed in front of audiences many times and have the experience to show others what it takes to reach that level.

The time I spend not playing, I am working on writing music and working to expand my theoretic knowledge of music in general.

I would like to pass on the techniques I have learned to others whether it be for marching percussion and developing focus, learning to keep time and understand rhythm, or just having fun with one's instrument.
