Review About Me
I am primarily a Blues/ Rock guitarist and bassist. I did study Jazz in University and that had a profound influence on my style and technique. I also sing and write my own music, I have toured around the country and internationally. I grew up and still enjoy listening to The Beatles, Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Jimi Hendrix, and Eric Clapton, to name a few. With students I like to go over their goals or ambitions (pertaining to music) and design a lesson plan based on what they want to achieve.
Nic C has over 18 years. years of music experience in the Providence area.
Nic C is proficient in and teaches Guitar Lessons, Bass Guitar Lessons, Song Writing Lessons .Formal Education:
I attended the music conservatory at Ithaca College and New York University (NYU). I graduated with a bachelors degree in Music Performance from NYU.
Private Education:
While at NYU, I was fortunate to have studied with one of the jazz greats, John Scofield. The experience proved invaluable, he has been a major influence of mine since the age of 15. I was also able to study both with Mordy Ferber and Wayne Krantz.
Performing Experience:
I have toured nationally and internationally as a guitarist/ backup singer with various groups: Counting Crows, Augustana, Elle Varner, The Broadcast, Notar. I also regularly play regionally performing my own compositions and favorite covers.
Experience Teaching:
Through the past 8 years, even while at university, I have taught students. I have always found a great pleasure in teaching and even learning from those that I do teach.
