I have been a private drum teacher since the summer of 2000, and I have studied with some of the leading jazz professionals in Arizona as well as the Jazz Studies Faculty at the University of North Texas. I felt I should get a more well rounded education, so I received my Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies, with concentrations in Music and Business from Arizona State University. I have a passion for composing music and an ear for talent, and I am very interested in applying my skills to other forms of media. Playing in various original groups and jazz ensembles, I have gained experience in working with a team to create music, but I also compose independently and thrive in that environment equally well. I am familiar teaching jazz, rock, blues, latin, and basic theory to a wide variety of students. In addition to my performance and teaching history, I have participated in a music supervision internship at FuelTV in Los Angeles, CA, as well as a music distribution/sales representative internship through the Universal Music Group. As part of these experiences, I have been involved with the selection of music that accompanies television shows, and I learned about the process of licensing those songs for professional use. I believe this gives me insight on the larger mechanisms of the music industry, and helps me to convey more information to my students.
