I'm a local musician with 35 years experience playing the guitar. I have been giving lessons locally for about two years. I find great satisfaction with giving instruction especially to beginners. I currently play guitar in my band The Neighbor Dave Trio. I also run open mics in the area on select days.
Dave P has over 2 years years of music experience in the Hamburg area.
Dave P is proficient in and teaches Guitar Lessons .Formal Education:
I do not have any formal music instruction.
Private Education:
I received private instruction from Jazz Master Randy Sarles of Collegeville. He was instrumental in teaching me the fundamentals and theory along with proper technique.
Performing Experience:
I have performed with bands since the 90's. I had a band called The Mid-Life-Crisis band. I went on to play as a duo with my wife Cheryl. I then played guitar for TJ Bebb who is now a Nashville recording and performing artist. Currently I have a band called the Neighbor Dave Trio or Duo. We play a variety of 60's 70's to present rock, country, blues, folk, and jazz.
Experience Teaching:
Teach locally in the Kutztown area. Specialize in beginning guitar. I use the CAGED method to teach these chords first before going on to tougher chords like F, Bm, and B7. I use the E and A system for teaching bar chords. I teach theory but try not to bog down beginning students with too much theory. My goal is to have them playing songs as soon as possible so that they will have fun.
