Patience, knowledge, both playing and performing experience. I have been playing guitar on and off for over 20 years. It is a lifelong pursuit and I strive to learn something new everyday. I have extensive knowledge of scales and how they are used to create solos, form chordal harmony, and arpeggios. I am currently enrolled in one of Berklee College of Music's online certificate programs. I have played in bands, duos and solo. I play Rock, Blues, Acoustic and some Jazz. My passion is Rock. I write and perform my own songs locally. I am also building a repertoire to perform either by myself or with other musicians.
Formal Education:
I am halfway through a master guitar certificate program through Berklee College of Music's online program. It's an 8 class requirement. I have completed courses in the following: Rhythm and Groove Guitar Funk, R & B soloing Classic Rock Blues This semester I am taking 2 classes, one on chords and one on scales. I will finish up with 2 jazz guitar classes
Private Education:
I studied 2 years under Mike Bailey in Virginia. Mike is a Berklee graduate. He wrote his own lesson plan based on what he learned at Berklee. He also transcribed and published Al di Meola's first 5 albums. Mike was briefly a member of the rock band Stryper, taking the place of Oz Fox. I studied for about 3 years under John Connolly who studied music at George Mason University in Virginia
Performing Experience:
I have played in bars, coffee shops, private parties and open mics. Both singing and playing guitar. Currently I am playing open mics and putting music together to play solo gigs or possibly with other musicians.
Experience Teaching:
I have taught friends, family and neighbors over the years for free. I lost my job in 2012, prompting a move to FL and possibly a new career.
