About Me

My focus is Jazz. I am interested in teaching those who are serious about learning guitar, whether they want to play jazz or not. I understand the process of learning, how the guitar is organized and how music works. Putting those three elements together with motivating insights into music making is the basis of my teaching orientation and approach. Every student is different. Some are left or right brained, left or right handed, academically or conceptually oriented, long or short fingered, etc. Fortunately, for us all, music can be approached in many ways, even while directed toward the same ends.
