About Me

My motivation for teaching comes from my passion for music and all that it stands for. Music holds a different meaning to everyone who experiences it regardless of whether or not they play an instrument. My main goal is to help my students improve technically but to also help them understand why they are learning the things that I teach them. I will make sure they have listening examples so that the things they practice have context. I am very open to having my students come to me with things that THEY want to learn. It is important to learn from those that you admire because that is how you find meaning and motivation for the music that you create. I want to make the learning experience as positive and fulfilling as I can for my students. Whether it be rock drumming or setting up a recording project, I will make sure that my students learn everything that they need and want to know.

Performing Experience:

Over the past 10 years I have performed with various bands and artists throughout Virginia. From 2 I played with Street Drum Corps at Kings Domion in Ashland VA as well as EDC in Orlando FL. Most recently I joined The Bachelor Boys Band-a high end wedding band that plays private events and weddings in Baltimore, Richmond and the DMV area.

Experience Teaching:

I began teaching in Richmond Virginia in 2014 at the School of Rock and a local YMCA branch. I taught in person from 2 and continued with some of my students virtually during the pandemic. In 2021 I moved to Loudoun County, VA and have been teaching both virtually in in person.
