I am very patient, kind and encouraging. I have excellent communication skills, and I enjoy teaching and meeting new people. I also have a positive attitude and am energetic and very passionate about music as an art form, recreational activity and universal language.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in English Literature and a Minor in Music from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Performing Experience:
I have performed in bands ranging in style from alternative rock and blues to jazz/funk fusion for a decade. I also performed in my high school jazz band and was selected to play in a jazz combo that was run by the Music Department faculty at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and counted for class credit. I have played multiple times at Lincoln Theater, the largest, indoor exclusive music venue in Raleigh, NC which is where Led Zeppelin and Nirvana played. One of my bands won a Battle of the Bands to be the House band for 96 Rock, a Clear Channel radio station in North Carolina. Also, I played a show that was headlined by a band including Artimus Pyle, the drummer from Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Experience Teaching:
I gave bass guitar lessons to several students for two years. In my jobs as a summer camp counselor and after school program counselor I have led programs and taught classes on a variety of topics including music, sports, horse-back riding, boating, gardening, hiking and taking care of chickens, horses and goats.
