About Me
Rick B. is a versatile musician who knew his calling was the musical arts at an early age. A self-taught guitarist by the age of 7, Rick soon enrolled into the prestigious Yamaha School of Music where he graduated with honors. His love of guitar extended to a passion for all musical instruments and Rick soon became an accomplished pianist, keyboardist and electric/acoustic bassist (Rick’s instrument of choice). As a result of high school accolades, Rick was offered to teach additional students enrolled at The Bass Institute of Technology.
Rather than accepting this prestigious opportunity, Rick chose to expand his musical talents and extend himself into the world of record production. At the age of 19, Rick produced his first album. By the time Rick turned 23, his success and growing reputation as a studio musician and producer allowed him to open his first recording studio.
As the success of the studio and record production continued, Rick once again expanded his music career, this time in the world of film and television composition. Rick has written composed and arranged scores, opens, bumpers, and music libraries for a host of clients, including television networks, such as NBC, CBS, FOX and ABC, as well as national cable channels like Women’s Entertainment, BET, The Game Show Network, and Trinity Broadcasting Network. He also has scored many music cues for films and television series, such as Steven Seagal’s “True Justice”, Jean Claude Van Damme’s “Dragon Eyes”, “Never Back Down 2”, as well as the nationally syndicated program “HomeTeam” and “Tooned In”, as well as the soundtrack for the film “Big Bully” and “In The Lines of My Hands” with Dennis Hopper and Frank Ghery, earning him composer credits as well as music supervisor and songwriter credits along the way. Rick’s growing list of credits in this world includes the composition of a music library at George Lucas’ Skywalker Ranch with members of the San Francisco Orchestra and has now ventured into scoring for video games. He is completely comfortable in scoring original work and sound alike music of all genres.
Rick B is proficient in and teaches Bass Guitar Lessons, Keyboard and Piano Lessons .
