My lessons include 3 areas: Guitar Skills, Music Theory, and Songs. My goal is to help the student discern what their goals are for playing guitar: if it is to perform, we add stage presence and putting a song set together, If it is to play in a worship band at church, we focus on songs from their church. If it is for their own pleasure, we look at their favorite artist songs. if they want to learn to read the staff versus chord charts, we add a Hal Leonard guitar method book. I have 2 parties a year for all students interested: a Christmas Party and a Spring Party, where we gather to play together. The parties have been greatly modified since Covid-19.
