Philip is a Junior Music Performance major at the Dana School of Music. Philip is the recipient of the Leslie H. Cochran University Scholar Award from Youngstown State University. He is the Vice-President of the Dana Guitar Association and has performed in master classes with world-renowned classical guitarists including: Johannes Moller, Vladimir Gorbach and Jeffery McFadden. He has also observed master classes with the great Manuel Barrueco and David Russell. He has also participated in a master class with jazz guitarist and Television Star Joe Negri from Mr. Rogers Neighborhood. In addition, Monrean has performed in a guitar quartet for the famous actor, Ed O’Niel. Monrean has given performances at local middle schools and high schools such as Chaney High School and Boardman High School. He attended Ursuline High School in Youngstown, Ohio and studies guitar with Dr. Francois Fowler.
