My name is TJ and I have flourished in both the artistic world of jazz, rock, blues and gospel. Music is my first love and I have a passion for bass and guitar. I have spent a lifetime teaching myself to read and write music while working with youth that share the same passion.
I have played drums, bass and guitar for local and nationally known artists including gospel artists; Yvonne Burgess, Shirley Caesar and Bruce Parham. I also enjoy playing keys and composing music.
Currently, I play bass in an area band, jazz guitar for a local restaurant, teaching, and studio sessions.
My teaching sessions will consist of the music theory, guitar and bass techniques, and the theory behind your “favorite” song. I can teach beginning to intermediate range of guitar and bass.
T.J. Wa- has over 20 years of music experience in the Stafford area.
T.J. Wa- is proficient in and teaches Guitar Lessons, Bass Guitar Lessons, Drum Lessons, Keyboard and Piano Lessons .Formal Education:
I am self taught. I have taught myself to read and write music and music theory by getting books and anything I could get my hands on to help me to become a better musician. My short term goal is to take an on-line class at Berkley for writing scores for movies.
Private Education:
20 plus years of gigging and buying books on anything I could get my hands on. I took bass lessons for about a month, but reallized that I was paying the instructor to show him my licks.
Performing Experience:
Playing for churches,local bands, writing, session work and many nationally known gospel artists.
Experience Teaching:
5 years teaching rock, jazz, funk, blues and gospel styles one on one and music theory in group sessions.
