Hello! I have over 14 years of learning experience, including private lessons, some college, over 16 years of performing experience (stage and studio), and over 10 years of teaching experience-giving private lessons and some group classes/workshops. I've played professionally in rock, country, and blues bands, corporate entertainment groups, and a dance company. My teaching style focuses on patience, emphasis on thorough practice methods, and of course, just having fun in general! I teach primarily drum set techniques and classical percussion including standard rudimentary techniques for an overall good foundation for all ages and skill levels. I've also briefly taught piano to apply music theory knowledge for foundation purposes. At the same time I believe teaching students the music they enjoy helps them to keep interest in the instrument and have lots of fun!

What to expect in my Drum Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced

Formal Education:
I studied with Dom Moio at the Mesa Community College for 2 years, learning latin percussion and latin jazz technique. No formal degree, but lots of knowledge was gained.
Private Education:
I studied with local Mesa drum instructor Bobby Domings for 9 years. We studied all genres over the years. I've also studied with world-renowned drummer Mike Mangini. He's known as being the world's fastest drummer, after winning the competition several times. He also used to be a professor at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. He's now the current drummer in the progressive rock band Dream Theater.
Performing Experience:
I've been performing professionally for over 6 years, with an Irish rock band called Keltic Cowboys. We've opened for world-wide bands such as Alien Ant Farm, and Flogging Molly. I also played in a corporate rhythm and dance group called Street Jam. We play mostly at resorts, corporate conventions and meetings, etc. Locally and nationwide. It's similar to Stomp.
Experience Teaching:
3 years experience teaching at Richarson Music in Mesa at the Superstition Springs Mall. 12 years experience teaching in-home lessons. I also briefly taught group classes at Sunshine Acres Children's Home and Peoria Music Academy.
