About Me

I started playing percussion instruments at the age of 12, and I began taking formal lessons very soon after. I played all throughout high school in school bands, as well as musical groups of my own. At the age of 16, I attended the highly-regarded Wyoming Seminary Performing Arts Institute. The following year, I was the only percussionist from the entire state to be accepted into the Pennsylvania Governor's School of Arts. This extremely valuable experience convinced me to pursue music performance in higher education. I enrolled in the highly competitive Boyer College of Music at Temple University, where I studied for 6 semesters, before I was forced to take a break from education due to reoccurring wrist injuries. I did not return to school. However, I have since gone on to perform regularly in Philadelphia with highly touted jazz musicians and pop groups.

What to expect in my Drum Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced

Students of mine will be taught the fundamentals of great drum set playing, including consistently practicing of rudiments, learning to keep good time, and the development of limb independence. However, from the beginning of my time with any student, my focus is to cultivate their ability to play what interests them. As a student develops in their ability to play the instrument and to understand different musical situations, I will introduce new teaching methods such transcribing and learning music tracks, and learning from specific instructional books.
