Review About Me
I have been playing music for over 27 years and been teaching guitar privately for over 10 years. My specialty is "shred" style guitar (Eddie Van Halen, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, etc...) and I teach blues guitar as well. I have played in numerous local bands over the years raging from southern rock, jam band music, modern rock, and metal. I also have and teach perfect pitch (the ability to hear and identify any note on any instrument). I teach music theory and any songs the student might want to learn as well (keeping it fun for the student).

I graduated J.R. Tucker High School in the class of 1992.
Private Education:
I never really took any formal guitar lessons (wish I would have) everything I learned I learned from instructional books with cassettes and jamming with other fellow musicians. I think that actually helps me with teaching though because I know what its like to start trying to play on your own with no instruction so I know what to teach (good technique. listening with your ears, theory, sight reading and tab reading etc..) and what not to teach (playing too fast before learning it slow and comfortably, poor hand technique, etc...)
Performing Experience:
I have performed and played in various local bands for over 20 years ranging in the styles of southern, modern, and hard rock, jam band, and all different styles of heavy metal. I was also state champion in the 2010 best in shred competition at Sam Ash music in Richmond Virginia (you can see both performances an the youtube video I have).

I have taught all different ages and experience levels privately for over 10 years
