Review About Me
I've played piano professionally, off and on, for 25 years. I've produced several songs for various artists, and have produced and released my own album. I play piano, both solo and in groups, though I'm familiar with most instruments. I'm experienced in orchestrating and arranging as well. I'm experienced in the studio: producing, recording, mixing and mastering.
Tal M. is proficient in and teaches Keyboard and Piano Lessons .
Formal Education:
Studied piano, music theory & composition at California State University, Northridge. I have a B.A in Communications and Cultural Studies from City University of New York. Masters in Education from Florida Atlantic University.
Private Education:
Performed as a musician and band leader for several bands in various genres: Reggae, Rock, Pop, R&B, Jazz, and Classical. Most notably I was the pianist and band leader for Phil Crosby Jr. for a one year music tour of his grandfather Bing Crosby's hits.
Performing Experience:
I've taught piano on and off for the past 20 years, whenever I've been able to find students. I've also taught music theory, orchestrating/arranging and music production. My teaching approach, while technical, is tailored around the student's interests. If a student wants to learn how to read and write music, I'll show them. If they want to learn how to orchestrate for a symphony, I'll show them. If they want to learn how to play hardcore Jazz, I'll show them. But if they just want to learn their way around an instrument, or to play a few songs to impress friends, I'll show them. I'm not demanding.
