I picked up the guitar at age 19 and quickly started writing songs of my own to perform at local venues in my hometown in Oklahoma. A year later, I had the opportunity to record my first demo in New York City. I wanted to continue learning more and more about the guitar and once I realized it was something I could study in college my decision to pursue a music degree was made. I soon graduated with a Bachelor's in Jazz Guitar Performance from the University of Central Oklahoma. I had the opportunity to teach lessons for J. Rogers and Allegro Performing Arts Studios, and also privately during my undergraduate studies. I performed jazz with various ensembles in school, at local venues, and at private events in Oklahoma City. I also performed in the pit for various musicals at professional theaters and universities in the area including: Lyric Theatre, The University of Oklahoma, The University of Central Oklahoma, Summerstock Productions, and The Pollard Theatre. After my undergraduate degree I formed a band, recorded a full length album, and began to tour the midwest. I decided to go back to school for a Master's in Music Production, Jazz Studies at UCO. Through that process I was able to write, arrange, record, mix, and master an album of my music as a jazz artist. Since then I have continued to perform, learn, and play guitar as much as possible. I am excited about our recent move to Portland, OR, and this opportunity to help others on their musical journey.
