My name is Jens, I am from Freeport Bahamas. I've been playing and teaching piano professionally for ten years. Currently I live in Boston where I gig and tour regularly with a reggae band called Mighty Mistic and the Deep Roots Movement as well as with my own fusion band called Strix and Lupa. The styles I play mainly are jazz, neo soul, pop, rnb, blues, and reggae but I love all music and love teaching it.

Jens S is proficient in and teaches Keyboard and Piano Lessons, Song Writing Lessons .Formal Education:
One year of formal study at The Players School of Music in Clearwater Fl. There I received federal accreditation. Three years study at Berklee College of Music. There I received a BA in professional music focussing in film scoring and performance.
Private Education:
I've studied privately with many incredible teachers such as the late Ray Santisi, Jeff Covell, Jeff Berlin, Apostolous Paraskevas and the late Ed Bedner.
Performing Experience:
I worked as a pianist in the house band for Busch Gardens in Tampa Fl for a year prior to moving to Boston. I've been in working bands gigging regularly for the last 8 years. I played at the Portland Maine and Providence Rhode Island reggae festivals last year opening for big reggae names such as Yellowman, Steel Pulse and Third World. I've toured the Bahamas and Turks and Caicos. I've started and run my own bands, composing, arranging and managing.
Experience Teaching:
I've had private student of my own and worked with peers as a tutor. Formally I worked for two music schools in Florida - the Universal Rock school and Sam Ash whet I had 20 regular students. After moving to Boston continued teaching privately on my own and also worked for Berklee as a core music tutor for 18 regular students. Also at Berklee I a private studio teaching class with David Newsam.
