About Me

I am 31 years old, and have been playing guitar since I was 14. I've studied a good deal of theory both in a formal setting and independently. My goal is to have students fall in love with the instrument the same way I did. SO I teach in a manner that lets me approach each student by their needs and wants, instead of a manufactured lesson plan blanketed over all students as though we are all created equal. We will start with basics like first position chords until we can get a good rhythm and then move on to getting a couple songs under your hands. Ill throw in theory concepts that eventually will assist in rapid learning for future songs! Five to ten minutes of every lesson will be dedicated to scales and licks that could be used for those same songs we are learning!!

ST Charles community college music and jazz theory.

Private Education:

I studied independently since day one 15 years ago. I have a lot of good resources and handouts I have printed over the years to assist and ease in learning guitar.

Performing Experience:

I performed in high school in a little punk rock band called the Penny Flickers.

Experience Teaching:

I have been teaching for just about three years. I also teach at Music and Arts as the primary guitar teacher on Saturdays.
