I have a Bachelor of Science in music education, a Bachelor of Arts in music with a performance emphasis, and I am currently working towards my master's degree in music education at the University of Missouri - Kansas City Conservatory of Music and Dance. I have taught drum set and percussion lessons from ages five up to 69 years young. Lessons include reading music (or learning how to read), learning various drum beats, snare drum exercises and warm ups, playing drum set along to your favorite music, improvising, composing drum beats, understanding popular music song structure, music history and music theory lessons, studies on styles of music (jazz vs rock vs latin vs country vs concert percussion/classical percussion etc), and playing other percussion instruments (hand drums, maracas, tambourine, etc).
