A former graduate of the Guitar Institute of Technology in Hollywood, California. I have been playing guitar for about 25 years. Studied classical guitar under the founding University of Arizona Guitar Professor Norman Sholin and majored in music at Pima Community College.
I pursued guitar playing w/ a passion while in my late teens, early 20’s by formally studying various styles of guitar from acoustic steel string and classical to rock/blues and jazz. After taking an extended hiatus from any guitar performance/teaching I resumed my interest the last couple of years continuing on the path to achieve diversity in playing. I have played in an R&B band, jazz trio, performed as an instrumental soloist, and played with rock/blues and dance music bands. Musical influences include Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Christopher Parkening, Larry Carlton, Wes Montgomery, Steve Howe, Eddie Van Halen, George Lynch and many others that I have admiration for.

• Formerly (2009-2010) Provided lead, rhythm & backing vocals for local rock and roll ‘cover’ bands “Lip Service” and “ Keeping The Peace”

• Lead guitar player in dance/funk ‘cover’ band “Celebration” (1980’s)
• Performed as solo classical-style guitarist
Experience Teaching:
I have about 6 years experience teaching various styles (acoustic finger picking/plectrum, jazz, rock/blues,hard-rock & classical) and levels of guitar to a wide age range (from 6 years to 76 years ) of students. I incorporate versatile facets of playing including chord progressions, technique, improvising, ear training, music theory and playing actual songs that students WANT to learn.
