I received my first drum set in the third grade. I haven't stopped playing since. Throughout my youth, I was very involved in music through recreation and through school. Until about the sixth grade I was self taught. At this point in my life, I began classical percussion lessons and started my first band simultaneously. Now, eight years later, I am in multiple gigging bands in the area of Charlottesville Virginia, giving private lessons on drumset, hand drums, and snare drum, and am the drum line instructor at Nelson County High School. I believe that music is therapy. Music and teaching combined are my bread and butter and quite frankly, it's my life. If you don't want my advice about playing drums, than you don't want my advice.
