Hello, my name is Reuben. I live in the Plano area. I have been active in a progressive rock band for the past 10 years. I have a wide variety of musical genre interests and influences, but my main passion is rock, acoustic, and pop. Some of my favorite artists include Ed Sheeran, Michael Jackson, Eminem, The Civil Wars, Alice in Chains, Post Malone, Devin Townsend, The Midnight, TOOL, Incubus, and many others.

Beginner - Intermediate
For vocal lessons, please bring a notepad and a pen/pencil to take notes during the lesson, if needed. Staying hydrated is also important, so please feel free to keep a bottle of water handy. Also, given that these are vocal lessons, I do expect my students to sing (as opposed to just hearing me talk through the entire lesson), but please know that this is a completely judgement-free zone-I am here to support you and I only want to help guide you to the next level in your singing journey. Lastly, I would recommend picking about five songs that you're interested in learning and bring that list of songs to your first lesson.
Formal Education:
I have had in-person professional vocal training and also months worth of online coaching. I have been singing for about as far back as I can remember. For my instrument training, I did a few months of acoustic guitar learning from the Melody Makers institute back in Dubai, U.A.E when I was growing up. Since then I have been mostly self taught. I started learning bass by observing some of my favorite bassists, including Billy Sheehan and Victor Wooten. I eventually took lessons from Mark Michell (bassist of Houston prog rock band Scale the Summit).
Performing Experience:
I have played shows in the local DFW scene with two bands-Bathysphere, which was a doom/sludge metal band, and Ghost Communion, which is a progressive rock band.
Experience Teaching:
I have taught both kids and adults-I have three kids of my own and I am easy going with my teaching style (although I do expect my students to practice :) )

Dude knows the bass!
I've known and been jamming with Reuben for awhile. In addition to his superb knowledge of the bass, his musicality and technique are untouchable. But, that doesn't make someone a good teacher. However, what does make someone a good teacher is their helpful, patient, and personable attitude; all of which Reuben has. Greatness
Reuben is a natural when it comes to music. I've watched him pick up the bass guitar and within a very short while was playing like he has done it for years.
