About Me

Si was invited by The Juilliard School Pre-College Division to study abroad under Shirley Givens at the age of 12. She worked with various spectacular both young and mature artists from all around the world. At the age of 15, Si was invited to have her debut with the Dalian Phil harmonic orchestra with an audience of over 2000 audience. Due to the high-ticket sell of the concert, she was offered a contract to tour in China as a soloist but she didn’t want to give up her education so she didn’t take this amazing opportunity and decided to finish her education in United States. Later on, she decided continued to pursue her education at the Mannes School of Music under Shirley Givens. With an outgoing, bright and positive energetic personality, she became friends with many fantastic and unique artists who she also worked and discuss music with. At that moment, she knew she made the right choice by continuing with her education. After received her Bachelor degree, She was invited back to The Juilliard School to pursue her Master’s degree with a tiny acceptance rate of 6% under Sally Thomas who was a very well known respected faculty at The Juilliard School for over 50 years. Si was always interested in teaching which was inspire by her parents who were both Music Professors. Coming from a musical family, she had the advantage to have a better understanding between teaching and performing. Her initially teaching experience was at the age of 14, when helping one of her mother’s students. She soon discovers the essential beauty of teaching and deeply feels in love with it. Si once said to her collages “watching others improve is much more awarding than master it you.” She continued teaching and coaching throughout her college years. Si’s talent for teaching was recognized by her teacher at The Juilliard School, Sally Thomas who offered Si a teaching position at the Meadowmount School of Music as her teaching assistant where it was a huge success in her teaching career.
