About Me

Jimmy graduated from the University of Akron with a degree in Guitar Performance – Jazz Studies. Currently, he is a guitarist with Wesley Bright and the Honey Tones, and is also an on-call guitarist for various projects. Jimmy has performed throughout the U.S. and Canada at festivals, concert clubs, theaters, and private events including Jam in the Van, Sofar Sounds, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Public Hall, Beachland Ballroom, House of Blues, Blu Jazz, Lock 3, Musica, and Near West Theatre. He has shared the stage with Tower of Power, Charles Bradley, Lee Fields, Sly and the Family Stone, War, Herbie Hancock, Joe Lovano, Michael Spiro, and Adam Rogers. Jimmy is an experienced, professional instructor who has taught guitar, sax, piano, bass, drums, and beginner horn, and theory for all of these instruments. He teaches all forms of music, sight-reading, and improvisation. For nearly 15 years, he has taught students from ages 5 - 75.
