Jack Started my musical life at age 10, on the guitar. I played guitar in several local rock and pop bands, and I got involved in different projects as a guitar player. I graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Jazz Guitar Performance major and studies under Larry Gray. I have performed with numerous esteemed ensembles including the UIUC Jazz guitar Ensemble, Parkland College Small Jazz Ensemble, and others local band. Style rang in classical, rock, metal, pop, country, jazz, and blues. I emphasize a fun, organic learning atmosphere, focusing on basic theory, ear training, rhythm, composition, phrasing, and lead improvisation. Most importantly, I always strive to make the lesson time enjoyable for my students of all ages. And teaching students what you want to learn, what you are passionate about, and the songs that you enjoy the most, as well as the music theory behind the song. I’m looking forward to working with all of you future musicians.

Jack is the most serious and responsible guitar teacher I have ever seen, he is very strict, and also is very humorous.He tries to be friends with every student, and know each student’s hobby, learning ability and so on. And then he develops different teaching plan for each student.He is very patient to every student, and also encourage students to practice more during free time.He often organize guitar performance activities, that allow his students to get a chance to perform, besides, to enhance students' interest in learning and recognize each student’s potential.He knows speak both English and Chinese, he also worked as a guitar teacher in China before, he sometimes connect the music culture of China and the United States and share with his students.He said: there are no bad students, only have bad teachers that not know how to teach guitar.In short, he is a good teacher and a good guitarist.
