Phillip C

  Phillip Compton received the Master of Music Degree in Organ Performance and Music History from Temple University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he was selected to appear in Who’s Who in American Universities and Colleges. He received the Bachelor of Music degree, Cum Laude, in Church Music as an organ major from Susquehanna University, Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania, where he was the first recipient of Music Department Honors in Music upon graduation.  

  During gap year before college, studied piano, organ, harmony, academic and 16th and 18th century counterpoint and orchestration with Dr. William T. Timmings in Philadelphia.  

  Phillip Compton is a past Conductor and Music Director for the Emmaus Chorale and was the founding conductor of the Allentown Chamber Choir and the Berkshire Chorale . With many performances of oratorios and other extended choral works to his credit, he has conducted choral concerts in such prestigious venues as Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, the Bethlehem Musikfest in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and has led a fifteen-day European concert tour of England, Germany and Austria, and conducted three Christmas Season concerts in the East Room of the White House. Phillip Compton has also conducted professional performances for the Berks Grand Opera company and the Berks Ballet Theatre.
