Bass Guitar Lessons, Orchestral Lessons
Studio or Home
I am a bass guitar and upright bass player studying music education at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Chanpaign. I love to play all kinds of music, from classical to hard rock and anything in between.
Formal Education:
I am currently completing my undergrad in music education at UIUC where I study under Michael Cameron. I also played in orchestras and bands throughout most of high school.
Private Education:
I studied privately under Doug Nestler for about three years in high school.
Performing Experience:
I have performed multiple pit orchestra gigs with Summerplace Theater, playing both bass guitar and upright bass. I performed Handel's Messiah for Plainfield United Methodist Church. I performed in my high school's orchestras and jazz bands for three years and now play with my college's orchestra. I have performed in bands I made with friends. I have also performed with my acapella group on campus, although the voice is not my main instrument.
Experience Teaching:
I haven't had an opportunity yet to teach private music lessons. I have, although, been a teaching assistant in summer orchestra programs where I would lead sectionals or help kids out with tuning and technique. I have also had experience teaching history while working as a historical interpretor at Blackberry Farm, a job similar to a museum tour guide in a museum geared towards elementary school-age children.
