Jorge Ji

I am a mid-twenties percussion student at the University of Central Florida where I am currently seeking a BA Degree. I have been playing drums for 11 years, starting when I was 10-years-old and studying privately with several teachers, and percussion for 3 years, starting with my classes at UCF. Although I prefer teaching beginner and intermediate drum set students, I will be more than happy to teach percussion and music theory and/or ear training.

I very much look forward to and enjoy teaching as part of my career. Patiently working the subtle needs of different students is what I love most about teaching. I believe the fundamentals are essential. Good technique, musicianship, and musicality are a priority in my teaching. I love students who are serious about music and enjoy practicing. Most importantly, I believe teaching can be a mutual learning experience for the teacher as well as the student.
