I've found that while many music teachers start off teaching fundamentals and theory, this can turn people off and result in a "failure to launch". I make my first priority to get my clients playing the songs they enjoy listening to as fast as they can because from personal experience that is the best way to instill intrigue and build momentum in the learning process.
