I am a 31-year-old musician with both performing and teaching experience. I have taught students of all ages. I play guitar, piano, mandolin, and harmonica, and can teach them all. I have lived in 6 different states in the US and have travelled all over the country. I lived and worked on a resort in Wyoming, performing for guests once a week, and I've performed both in regular bands and as a solo street performer. My teaching style is one of positivity and encouragement-I want you to have fun while also building fundamentals.

What to expect in my Keyboard and Piano Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate
As someone who experienced the Suzuki method as a child, and also taught myself again in high school and college, I understand both the majesty and the frustration that learning the piano can bring. I believe that while the Suzuki method has a few benefits, that it takes an incorrect approach to the keyboard overall. Despite rising in the program, I found myself retaining none of the information. So I try to teach piano students the fundamentals, the form, and the basic skills to read sheet music, while also fostering imagination and improvisation on the keyboard. Like the guitar, I allow for improvisation when learning scales, and incorporate music theory into learning chords. I believe a lesson should be fun for all ages and never boring.

Private Education:
Suzuki method on piano from age 5-8, self-taught guitar and mandolin, harmonica. Formal education in music theory.

Ranch Manager
