About Me

Wendy received her Bachelor's degree in piano perfromance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and with graduate coursework in piano pedagogy. During her time at the University of Illinois, she has won the Gassman Scholarship for outstanding piano incoming freshamn, Smith Momorial Scholarship (a full four-year scholarship for undergraduate studies), and the undergraduate piano solo competition. Wendy has worked in the Illinois Summer Youth Music (ISYM) camp as a practice assistnat for the past three years and is currently teaching piano at the Harper College Community Music Center. Wendy is a member of Music Teachers National Association (MTNA). She has experience teaching piano lessons to all ages. Her students will be eligible to participate in all Music Teachers National Association festivals, competitions, Achievement In Music (AIM) Exam, and other events. She has performed with numerous ensembles, instrumentalists and vocalists in venues such as Smith Memorial Hall at the University of Illinois and Krannert Center for the Performing Arts. She has been the church pianist at Grace Methodist Church in Urbana, Apostolic Life Church in Urbana, and is currently the pianist at Chinese Word Ministries in Arlington Heights.
