About Me

My name is Sheyenne. I am 20 years old and currently attending college. I have lived in Washington my whole life and am very passionate about music. I currently study music at Pierce College and I am also working there as the music librarian, which means I am in charge of all music for the choirs, as well as various other obligations. I will be transferring to Pacific Lutheran University this fall to obtain my bachelors degree in Music Education. I hope to conduct choir at a high school or junior high school, and eventually obtain my masters degree and doctorate degree in choral conducting so that I may conduct choir at a university or college level.

Sheyenne D is proficient in and teaches Vocal Lessons, Song Writing Lessons .

Formal Education:

I am currently studying music at Pierce College. I am involved in botht the concert choir, which is non-audition and the chamber choir which is an audition group that has toured to New York City and is touring again next year. I have taken Music Theory classes I, II, III, and IV. I am in Music Theory V right now, and will take Music Theory VI next quarter. I have also taken a beginner s piano class and an intermediate piano class at Pierce. I will be taking advanced piano class next quarte

Private Education:

I take private voice lessons every week for one hour and have been doing so for the past two years.

Performing Experience:

I have been singing since I was a young child. I taught myself how to play the piano and guitar at the age of thirteen and also began writing songs at that time. I continue to write songs and record and produce my own music from home and post it online. I have done many paid gigs at local coffee shops as well as open mics. I have also preformed in school musicals, etc. I currently sing with the Pierce College Choir and have been singing with that group for the past 3 years.

Experience Teaching:

My choir director at Pierce College, Kenneth Owen, has recruited me several times to work with his singers in the non-audition group Concert Choir. I have gone in several times throughout the past two quarters to help them learn their parts and achieve a better tone and sound.
