Review About Me
My name is Matthew. My family is originally from New Orleans, LA, but I traveled a lot during my upbringing due to my father being in the military. I started playing the guitar 8 years ago when I lived in Hawaii. Early on, I realized that I had a natural affinity for music. I decided to study music when I went off to college. Since those in early days of trying to pluck out Jimi Hendrix at the shoreside, I've honed my skills and developed my musicianship significantly.
Matthew W has over 5 years of music experience in the Richmond Hill area.
Matthew W is proficient in and teaches Guitar Lessons .Formal Education:
I am a graduate of Louisiana State University with a B.A in Experimental Music and a minor in Digital Media Arts. I also have two years of classical training on guitar.
Performing Experience:
I've performed with one rock band as the lead guitarist and second vocalist. I've had public performances of my own solo electronic and electroacoustic music. I've also performed solo classical guitar concerts and in a classical guitar ensemble. I've performed with the Laptop Orchestra of Louisiana and LSU's Jazz Ensemble as the guitarist.
Experience Teaching:
I've taught guitar lessons to 3 students at once as a summer gig in 2014. I also taught my younger brother and sister consistently for a summer last year. Mymost recent employment was with an autism clinic where I worked intensively with children with speech and hearing disabilities. This involved many skills that are used by teahcers in classrooms.
