About Me

Hi! I teach from my own music studio, KW Music Studio, as well as in home lessons in the mornings during the week. I have availability in the mornings on Wednesday and Friday mornings. I teach voice and piano, as well as children's music classes. With my experience with children, I love to make music lessons a fun place to learn!

What to expect in my Keyboard and Piano Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate

Scales and Arpeggios; Flashcard Fun; Improv time, and songs from the Piano Adventures series! Even performances and duets!

Formal Education:

I graduated from Christopher Newport University with my BA in Music in 2012. Since then, I have gotten certified using the music program for children," Music Together", and have taught voice and piano lessons. I also create music classes at my school, and teach music once a week to my children at school. I also have used piano, flute, and voice within my classroom to create movement work as well for children.

Private Education:

I have played piano since first grade (I am now 27 year old), and have played flute from middle school to high school. I do not teach flute currently, but possibly could in the future. I have been teaching piano and voice since I moved to Charlottesville about 3 years ago, and am certified to teach private Music Together children's music classes, as well as music improv for all ages with MIMA Music.

Performing Experience:

I am currently in the Oratorio Society of Virginia, a selective chorus within the Charlottesville area that sings with the Ashlan Opera production company. I recieved a scholarship to sing professionaly with the Portsmouth Promusica Chorus in Portsmouth, N.H. in Prague, Czech Republic, Austria and Hungary in 2014. Since then, I have actively been in the Oratorio Society of Virginia, and recently sang with the Ashlan Opera in our production of" La Traviata".
