About Me
I grew up in Miami, FL and have been an active musician for about 15 years. I started playing music in 7th grade and have continued to explore and grow from there. As a young percussionist I was a member of the Greater Miami Youth Symphony and had the pleasure of performing in Carnegie Hall with this ensemble. I also attended summer class at Appalachian State University where I was a member of the percussion ensemble, orchestra and jazz band among other classes. In 2006 I was awarded a full performance based scholarship to DePauw University, and tured Easten Europe with the percussion ensemble directed by Amy Barber. I decided that I wanted to study more contemporary percussive styles, and left DePauw to continue my education at Berklee College of Music. Since 2012 I have played in several professional ensembles and bands and continue to explore new ways to grow and expand my musicality not only as a drummer, but a composer, pianist, bassist, and engineer. A great drummer is not only chops, but can be sensitive to all members of the ensemble and bring balance to music.
