Joey C. (Write Review) Jupiter, FL
Hello, my name is Joey and I am an experienced and practicing musician specializing in vocals, guitar (electric and acoustic), as well as audio recording, mixing, and mastering with programs such as Garageband and Logic Pro. I have been involved with music for about 10 years and my family has always been very supportive of my passions and endeavors. I started a band in my sophomore year of high school (now 21) and have been actively performing live on the weekends ever since. My primary music genres include reggae, classic-rock, funk, pop, and rock; however, I appreciate music in all forms and seek to continue in my appreciation for it.
Joey C. has over 10 years of music experience in the Jupiter area.
In terms of scholarly education, I graduated from Jupiter High School in 2013 with a completion of the Jupiter Environmental Research and Field Studies Academy. I dual enrolled my senior year of high school and completed my Associates of Arts degree in general education in 2015. I look forward to completing my Bachelor of Applied Science degree in General Management at the end of this Spring 2017 semester, in which I will continue managing my band from there.
As far as private education (in terms of music), I originally learned guitar from teaching myself songs through online tablature. Eventually I hit a breaking point and attended a few music theory lessons as well as receiving constant “lessons” from fellow band members- one of which graduated from FAU with a degree in Jazz Performance. Now with more than 8 years of guitar-playing experience, I continue expanding in my knowledge of music theory every day. Currently, I attend voice lessons from the amazing Zagaria Music Academy and continue to expand in my vocal range.
It’s been a long and exciting journey through the experience of live musical performance. I began playing at fundraisers, parties, and charity events at the age of 15 and have now moved to clubs, festivals, and even touring here and there. I continue to perform out on the weekends- sometimes up to 4 or 5 times in a single weekend. It’s been an eventful voyage with many great memories, but best of all is that it is humbling to be able to share something I love so much to people and to make them happy in doing so.
Though I have little experience of formally teaching music in an academy, I have a lifetime worth of experience in working with people and personally teaching guitar to family members and friends. I work with people of all ages on a daily basis and surround myself with a supportive and successful group of individuals. I am a goal-oriented person, therefore, I like to aid in the achievement of others and enjoy taking part in motivating them to get to where they want/need to be. As the second youngest in a family of 7 with many relatives, I am constantly surrounded by people and consider myself socially oriented as a result.
