Graduated from GHS in 1984 as an All State player with a music scholarship to Baylor but ended up deciding to major in elementary education and counseling. I've played with Starlight Orchestra for 8 years as their principle horn player and have taught sixth through eighth graders horn lessons at the Waldorf School in Austin. Music is a true passion of mine. I love to make learning fun and not just learning about the "technical". Building a relationship with my students is always primary.

What to expect in my Orchestral Lessons

Beginners will focus on breathing, scales, and simple songs. I like to find music that inspires the learner-not always classical... sometimes we will pull music from genres like pop, country, and country... I am a FRENCH HORN teacher, so I will bring my own horn... I will also find pieces that we can play duets and perform together. I like to make lessons fun. I've had students write their own music and perform as well so that they learn simple composing, time and key signatures.
