10ish maybe more Years
I live music and no that wasn't a typo. My name is Van and I just moved to Fort Collins in pursuit in my passion for even the simplest concept of music. Whether playing in the street with randoms, or playing in bedrooms with friends, or recording and playing for others, or teaching, and especially playing alone for self, my goal is to listen to the music and follow it and help others lend their ears to it as well.
Van G. has over 10ish maybe more years of music experience in the Fort Collins area.

What to expect in my Guitar Lessons
You will learn how to play Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd proficiently by the end of 5 sessions. Until this can be played one should not expect to learn any fingering positions, chords, scales, or theory. Think of the VanWay as a kind of "wax on, wax off" method. This song is all recognizable, simple, and complex. By learning just this one song students will approach the gate of knowledge with the key of understanding simple chords, simple finger/fret placement, intricate scale work, and melodic rhythm. From that point on it will be easier for me as an instructor to teach you, the student, and easier for you, the student, to grasp the frustrating and sometimes seemingly impossible concepts of music theory. Formal Education:
K-12 (Dakota Ridge High School) and a semester at Red Rocks Community College, Udemy
Private Education:
Jeffco Virtual Acadamy 1 yr, Udemy
Performing Experience:
Won 2nd place overall in the music and performance catagory of the Colorado State Talent Show in 2013 for Bob Segar's "Turn the Page"; Won 3rd the next year for Bon Jovi's "Wanted Dead or Alive" (cool story the former heavily inspired the latter accoring to the Bonj himself); have played for churches, school functions, private acoustic sets; once played "When I Come Around" with Billy Joe on stage. Other than that just the daily grind.
Experience Teaching:
I've taught many friends and family members how to play guitar, I'm currently teaching another the drums (best that I know). Was the lead bass in choir through high school and often directed my section but really we were all learning together. I'm self taught.
