Hi! I'm Andrés! I began playing guitar in late high school, when I was 16, and I've been playing music ever since. Over the years, I developed my skills by taking classical guitar lessons while pursuing an engineering degree in college, eventually leading me to start writing my own songs and performing as a singer/songwriter, as well as playing guitar for other bands and singers. I gained performance experience in the DC area by playing at such venues as Black Cat, Gypsy Sally's, The Black Squirrel, Ebenezers Coffeehouse, and IOTA Club and Cafe. While I'm able to teach several different genres of music, my favorites are rooted in Rock, Alternative, Reggae, Pop, Latin, and Indie, which, along with my experience playing classical guitar, have had great influence on my style of playing. Having a musical channel of expression through the guitar and writing brings fulfillment and enriches my life in a way that nothing else can. I love to teach so that students are also able find that inspiration and enjoyment through music, and whether you are a beginner or a seasoned professional, I'm excited to learn how I can help you reach your musical goals.
