About Me

I started playing drums at the age of 5. MY FATHER GAVE ME HIS DRUM PAD AND A PAIR OF STICKS SHOWED ME A SINGLE STROKE ROLL AND A PARADIDDLE AND OFF I WENT. THAT LED TO DRUM LESSONS IN 4TH GRADE THRU HIGH SCHOOL ALONG WITH MARCHING AND JAZZ BAND. AFTER A FEW YEARS OF PRIVATE LESSONS WITH BOB GATZEN AT CREATIVE MUSIC I ATTENDED THE HARTFORD CONSERVATORY TO STUDY JAZZ IMPROV. I MUST MENTION PLAYING IN MANY DIFFERENT ROCK BANDS FROM THE AGE OF 14 THRU HIGH SCHOOL EVEN UNTIL NOW. I LATER STUDIED WITH ED SOPH A YAMAHA CLINICIAN. I HAVE BEEN TEACHING FOR 30 YEARS PART TIME AND I AM A MEMBER OF PAS AND HAVE A PRIVATE TEACHER ENDORSEMENT FROM VIC FIRTH DRUM STICK CO. I TEACH ON SATURDAYS AT THE BUFFALO DRUM OUTLET A 5 STAR DRUM SHOP AND I WOULD LIKE TO BRANCH OUT TO OTHER STUDIOS. CURRENTLY I HAVE MORE TIME TO ALLOW FOR TEACHING ON OTHER DAYS . I AM MARRIED WITH TWO CHILDREN IN COLLEGE AND WOULD LIKE TO GIVE BACK MY TALENTS. I STILL PLAY IN BANDS BOTH DRUM KIT AND CONGAS AND ALSO INVOLVED WITH RUDIMENTAL DRUMMING WITH A DCA ALUMNI DRUM CORP. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME AND I WILL LOOK FORWARD TO HEAR FROM YOU.
