Durrell began playing Saxophone at the age of 6. Over the years, he developed his skills further by playing in various school bands, jazz ensembles, and on professional records. He gained performance experience in the Music area by playing at such venues as Howard theater, The Filmore Silverspring, even the Cherry Blossom Festival In DC. With acts such as “Tank”, “J.Nelson”, “J.Holiday”. Though Durrell can teach many different genres of music, his musical personal favorites are R&B & Jazz which had great influence on his style of playing. Durrell loves music because it’s his first language and loves teaching music because he believes music serves as therapy.
